Attack of the Food Bullies is a show for schools that uses mask, slapstick, juggling, improvisation, video and original music to tell a story about the advertising of unhealthy foods to children. Ideas include how advertising manipulates desires, food additives, how food affects mood and behaviour and the importance of physical activity for children. The show has been awarded a certificate of excellence in health promotions by Healthpact ACT.
I directed Attack of the Food Bullies in 2000 with Full Tilt Performance Troupe, devising the show with Mark Johnson and Danny Diesendorf. I am hoping to remount it some time in 2008.
