Theatre in East Timor
In August 2005, I had the amazing opportunity to go and teach in East Timor, at the first national gathering of theatre groups in independent East Timor. The event was called Loke Kurtina, or Opening the Curtain.

Despite the recent violence in East Timor, theatre groups are continuing, using theatre to address the universal trauma that people in East Timor have experienced, and a range of health, environment and gender issues.

An article I wrote about my experiences, that was written for the journal of the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance.

Many thanks to the ACT Government for funding that enabled me to go.
